Darwin himself would get a chuckle from Michael Mills’s amusing, animated take on how life came into being on this planet. The film begins with the single-cell amoebae that romped about the ocean depths and follows them as they evolve into the first amphibious creatures that crawled onto land, eventually to become the progenitors of modern man. Funnier and more indelible than any learned treatise, Evolution received a Canadian Film Award and an Academy Award® nomination for Animated Short Subject.
