The Song that Reached His Heart – one of two surviving dramatic films (the other being An Unselfish Love) from the series of thirteen produced by the Edison Company for the Canadian Pacific Railway to promote immigration – tells of a British Columbia lumberjack and his nostalgia for his childhood sweetheart, who used to sing to him. Unbeknownst to him, she arrives at the same hotel where he is staying. About to steal to pay his gambling debts, he overhears an attempt to rob her and rescues her, then discovers who she is.
