Cinematographer: Raymond Dumas, William Wiggins

The film that put former painter and sculptor Ryan Larkin on the map as a filmmaker, Walking draws from both those disciplines in its eclectic depiction – through the use of a number of techniques including charcoal drawing and colour wash – of human motion in different stages of life from various points of view. Both a humorous study of individuality and an artistic experiment in perspective, this unique, witty and dreamlike film – still required viewing in many animation classes – was nominated for an Academy Award® for best animated short.
