An experimental, autobiographical documentary about disclosed secrets, social prejudices and the fragile memories of a dysfunctional family, Reconstruction searches through director Laurence Green’s seemingly typical, white, middle-class sixties childhood in an attempt to comprehend the pain of being betrayed by his parents and the apparent loss of his black adopted sister. It was named Best Canadian Short Film at the 1995 Toronto International Film Festival® and won an award at the Uppsala International Short Film Festival.
